About the agency
Cec Mann Real Estate
A Mann has been selling real estate in Stanthorpe since 1961. Scott is the third generation, and the only agent in the business — every property is his from the first appraisal to settlement.
Jimmy Mann opened the doors in 1961. His son James — known to everyone as Cec — took the business on in 1963, and it has carried his name ever since. Scott joined in 1986 and took over in October 2005.
Scott is licensed in Queensland and New South Wales and is a qualified auctioneer. That dual licence matters more here than it sounds: the border runs through this patch, and Wallangarra, Liston and Rivertree all sit on the other side of it.
The agency is small on purpose — three people who have between them seen the district through five decades of it.
In their words
What 55 sales sounds like
Scott, who now runs the agency, was friendly but extremely professional in his inspection, listing and following through with the eventual sale of our property. When we mentioned Scott’s name to others in the Stanthorpe area, the response was all the same — "you won’t have any troubles selling your property with Scott!"
Robert and Jamaine
Scott provided honest feedback on what we should do to the house to get the best price, which we appreciated. We did as suggested, and the house sold the day after it was listed.

My 4th purchase in town and this was one of the easiest I’ve had. Very easy to talk to, straight up and honest and made the process simple — whether a call, sms or email he was there to respond.
Cam & Mark
Scott was very approachable and only too happy to help during the buying process. This was important as I was 4 hours away. Phone calls were responded to very quickly.
Karen
Scott’s knowledge of the local market was accurate. He always acted in our best interests in a calm, realistic, approachable communication style, and gave excellent advice and support in preparing our property for sale.
Richard and Cherie
He was contactable at all times, even weekends and late nights. He did a great video of the property, which encouraged me to buy it.
Monique
Scott kept me in the loop with every step. He worked hard to get me a good price and the sale went off without a hitch.
Jo-Anne
Being first home buyers can be very confusing and daunting, but Scott guided us through every step of the purchasing process.
Tristan & Hyunyoung
His communication between buyer and seller is wonderful. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to purchase or sell.
Paul and Alana
We recently purchased a property at Applethorpe through Cec Mann Real Estate. Marie was so lovely and met us on a Saturday to inspect the property, then went out of her way after hours to answer additional questions.

The patch
The Granite Belt
Cool climate, four real seasons
The Granite Belt sits above 800 metres. It is the only part of Queensland that reliably gets frost, autumn colour and the occasional fall of snow — which is exactly why people drive up from Brisbane.
Wine and orchard country
Around fifty cellar doors, apple and stone-fruit orchards through Thulimbah and Applethorpe, and a growing run of cafés and providores along the New England Highway.
Girraween on the doorstep
Granite tors, balancing rocks and wildflowers half an hour south. Most weekenders here are bought for the walking as much as the wine.
Two and a bit hours to Brisbane
Close enough for a weekender, far enough that a good block still costs a fraction of the coast. Warwick is forty minutes, Toowoomba ninety.
