My 4th purchase in town and this was one of the easiest I’ve had. Very easy to talk to, straight up and honest and made the process simple — whether a call, sms or email he was there to respond.

Who you get
Third generation on the Granite Belt. His grandfather opened the doors in 1961.
Jimmy Mann started selling real estate in Stanthorpe in 1961. His son, James — known to everyone as Cec — took the business on in 1963, and it has carried his name ever since.
Scott joined the family firm in 1986, initially as a merchandise salesman, and qualified as a real estate agent and auctioneer under his father. He took over the business in October 2005 and is now Principal Licensee and owner.
He is licensed in both Queensland and New South Wales, which matters more here than it sounds: the border runs through his patch. Wallangarra, Liston and Rivertree are all on the other side of it, and he can act on both.
What clients write about him is consistent to the point of being repetitive: he answers the phone. Weekends, late nights, and when the buyer is four hours away in Brisbane. He tells vendors what to fix before it goes to market, and he is straight about what a place will bring.
Scott provided honest feedback on what we should do to the house to get the best price, which we appreciated. We did as suggested, and the house sold the day after it was listed.

Where he sells
The Granite Belt
The Granite Belt sits above 800 metres. It is the only part of Queensland that reliably gets frost, autumn colour and the occasional fall of snow — which is exactly why people drive up from Brisbane.
Around fifty cellar doors, apple and stone-fruit orchards through Thulimbah and Applethorpe, and a growing run of cafés and providores along the New England Highway.
Granite tors, balancing rocks and wildflowers half an hour south. Most weekenders here are bought for the walking as much as the wine.
Close enough for a weekender, far enough that a good block still costs a fraction of the coast. Warwick is forty minutes, Toowoomba ninety.
Scott will look at it himself and tell you what it will bring. No automated estimate, no obligation.
